The history of the Calvinistic Methodists is one of the most remarkable periods of history that the world has ever seen. If ever a denomination was blessed, this denomination was blessed. Indeed, the nation was blessed. This book reviews this prolonged period of divine visitation.
Helpful book for those seeking salvation. It deals with the many obstacles and problems that people face, but all the time presses the seeker to meet with Jesus Christ. This book is also highly recommended for Christians to read. The book starts well, continues well and finishes well.
An excellent and inspirational book. The book is written by William Carey's great grandson, and has just be re-published as a paperback. William Carey was a pioneer missionary to India. He helped in setting up a missionary society in a time when the churches were not missionary minded. He then became the first missionary of that missionary society. Although he endured many hardships, he did not faint, and in God's time, he reaped a harvest.
A classic and special book that all should read. It is also a book that improves on a second reading after a man has experienced something of the way himself. The book is full of Scripture and full of spiritual insights into life. The ending to part 2 of the book, where Christiana (the wife of Christian) and her companions cross the river into glory, is simply delightful.
A book based on ten sermons on the ten commandments preached during 1977. The book conveys the love in the heart of a man that keeps the commandments, and the love in the heart of God in giving us these good commandments. Firstly they point out a man's need of Christ, and then they show, once a man has been saved, the way to love God.
