(Hebrews 2:16) For verily He took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the seed of Abraham.
A question for us as Christmas approaches. Why did the Lord Jesus Christ take our human nature? Why did He not take the nature of an angelic being? He came to represent us on the cross of Calvary - that’s the answer. And although you might not think it appropriate to speak of death on the commemoration of His birth, our Lord most certainly came to our world with His death in mind. For it is there on the cross, that the glory of the birth can be seen at its best. It is there we see Him in His humanity, receiving the sins of His people. Blessed birth! Blessed death! It only remains for you, my dear friend, to take your sin to Him through faith, and be saved.
